California Peas on Your Mind

Volunteered for a triathlon on Sunday. The place where the triathlon was held, reminded me of Decker Lake in Austin, where I had my 1st triathlon. This was a very elite group of Olympic and Sprint distance athletes. Very cool to be around the energy and excitement.

The pics are from my transportation trip from the starting line to the spot where I was Ground Marshall (have to tell residents and traffic to be mindful of the racers along the street). The coordinator pulled up in a van, with no seats, seat belts, etc and had us get in. It was more fun than it looked, being pilled up in a van, with a bunch of strangers who were just as excited to be volunteering on a Sunday at 5:30am, for the sake of supporting amateur athletes like us. The street pics are my view from the back of the van, and the last picture are of bicyclists that I had to make sure traffic and pedestrians were mindful of.
